Martina Geiger‑Gerlach

Eight residents of a shelter for homeless women are interested in the paid job to stage themselves as spectators in art exhibitions. They try to look into the lens of a fixed camera for an hour, so that their gaze seems to meet the gaze of the later vis-à-vis sitting viewers. I pay the protagonists, distribute drinks and popcorn, turn on the camera and leave the room. This means that the women take control and work how and for as long as they want. Each presentation of the unedited recording will be announced by an updated exhibition poster.
